Looking at the Raven and the Sparrow and trying to narrow down my choices. Also, I'm new to hammocking.
Being able to "insta-flip" in the Raven between right and left lay looks great. I sleep on both sides and I think that the ability to swap mid-stream sounds wonderful. My question is whether or not I give up any "flatness" between them.
Would the Raven and Sparrow of similar size both lay as flat?
If I lay the hammock itself out on the ground, would the same size Raven and Sparrow have the same exact footprint or are they cut differently?
It looks like the bug net and cover on the Sparrow is asymmetrical and so that determines whether it is right lay or left lay, I'm wondering if the hammock itself is also cut differently.
Is there a difference in weight between a similarly built Raven and Sparrow? How about a difference in volume when packed?
I asked this in the Raven thread but I'll ask it here too. Any risk of more bugs in the Raven because of how the bug net shifts around?
Inquiring minds hope to know.
