I was wondering what kind of fabrics could be used for a waterproof pack liner. Or if its even a good idea. Am I better of going with trash compactor bags? Thanks!

Found some 0.51oz. cuben fiber on RBTR. 100% waterproof. Is there any silnylon that would be close in comparison?
The problem that I see is that you need a pack liner that is the same size as the maximum inside dimensions of your pack.
I suppose you could make it out of Cuben fibre with a drawstring closure or a roll top with a clasp.
Yes, was thinking about a roll top.
Waterproof pack liners can mean soggy pack contents. _If_ your pack takes on water and make it inside the liner there is no way for it to drain out. I have always prefered to use separate waterproof bags than to have one big pack liner. Not saying you are wrong in your desire for one. Just pointing out why _I_ wouldn't use one.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

That makes sense. What would you recommend for stuff sack material? I think what I may go with is a pack cover from Dutch. Its made of Argon silnylon. It says waterproof. And his price is a bargin I think.
Pack covers are decent, but in a good rain or if you, take a spill crossing a over, water's going to get in. Water
Roof dry bgs- I have both sil and cuben- work well for me: either separate bags for quilts, clothes, and food, Ora cuben pack liner with a roll-top... Or both! The weight is minimal.

Thats what I was kinda thinking too. Using some inner liners as well. Thank you for your advice.
The only fabric I'd even think of using is silnylon, and it's durability in that capacity is questionable to me. It could work, I guess, but a trash bag (compactor or otherwise) is way easier and in the end, I think, more cost effective.
Pack liners have to be abrasion resistant. Sil wil become permeable after a while when used as a packliner I just use a trash compactor bag.
