Just curious about what is on the mystical secret side of the forum you get if you donate.... I would love to donate but need more firepower to convince the wife.

Nothing secret about it...

Still need to pay up. That said, I think it's worth it for all the extra posts that become available.

The main forum is great for information concerning hammocks. The donating forum is great for information concerning any activity you can think of doing with your hammock. I now spend more time reading posts in the Donating Forum than any other section of Hammockforums.net.
Once you start buying hammocks, suspension systems, tarps, top quilts, and underquilts, all from our own cottage vendors, you will need to be hiding a lot more from your wife than a $10 donation.
Cheers
Tell her she can learn more about how to teach you to cook better camp meals. Start women only treads on the "Off-Topic" forum complaining about the way men camp. Like how they don't go far enough way from the hammock in the middle of the night to dehydrate. Soon you will be sending each other PMs via HF and equally obsessed, if you are lucky. Personally my wife dislikes all SM and camping.
Edit: Surprising and fun topics on "Off-Topics" I saw a thread on "Game of Thrones" there, someone could and probably has tried to organize a campaign to get a camping hammock on a T.V. show like NBC's Revolution (just googled it season 3 was canceled). Once on Discovery Channel's Dual Survival those guys made a dual hammock with a cross of poles and tree vines tied across them. Someone probably posted that. It never crossed my mind, but should have. Mick Dodge on NatGeo occasionally uses a simple DIY hammock. Fun stuff. There are a LOT of OTHER very good survival forums and web sites, and dutch oven sites etc but a fun extra to have some threads like that here at HF, at donor area.
