Marketplace image category / Mass Image delete button

This is a two part suggestion.. First, a marketplace category in the image uploader.. A lot of people upload pics here of stuff they're selling or trading.. it should have it's own category in the uploader (to make them easier to weed out and delete later)

    and

A checkbox or mass delete system for our own image galleries. (Similar to the inbox) I don't even think most people know you can delete images, but it's such a pain in the butt, I find it hard to sit here wanting to go through the process with more than 1 or 2 images at a time.

Why delete photos? If they are attached/linked to threads it leaves holes in the "conversation" for those reading at a later date.

I assume hk2001 is talking about deleting photos used for Marketplace adds. Guess it would be nice to be able to delete those in bulk once the items is sold.

Not everyone uploads their photos to the forum. Many host them on other free photo sharing sites (photobucket, flickr, picassa, etc) and link to them.

I agree with gmcttr, that if you delete photos from a thread (market place or otherwise) it will leave holes in the threads that contain the pictures.

    Cheers

The Marketplace threads are not deleted after the transaction is completed, so it is better for the photos to remain available.

I would hope we could keep those images. It sux to start reading an old post about a product to find the pics gone, especially if the a current fs post references prior ones. Those photos can help newer hammockers figure out their setups and many times I've noticed things in the photos that spark a thought or idea in me. Like a different way of rigging a tarp, cook kit idea or such, sometimes unrelated to the product but still useful. I also like being able to look at those former fs threads on my item if it's passed hands several times to see the changes and wear and tear or lack thereof.
