Alrighty, so I recieved my superfly yesterday and got a chance to play with it a little today. Let me preface what i'm about to say by saying I am completely green to the hammock world. First hammock, tarp everything.. So I've had my hammock for a couple months or so (DreamHammock Dangerbird) right out of the box hung it a couple times and feel pretty good about the angles and all that. Got my superfly in. WOW.. There is definitely a learning curve to pitching a tarp. Height, tightness. angle to put your stakes. Mind you I am trying to pitch it without any hardware. I got some Lash-IT in and made two continuous loops. I attached 15' lines to each end at the ridgeline. So the line runs around the tree and then Prussik tied the continuous loops and then slippery bowline to them. I first hung the tarp by itself and felt pretty good about it. Looked tight and tie outs looked good.. Went to hang the hammock.. tarp was all on one side of the hammock. Hammock was 18" out on one side.. SOOO after about an hour or so of adjusting and moving knots and tightening here and loosening there.. IT WAS AWESOME!! Great coverage, awesome lay.. Just gunna need some practice and definitely need to get some snakeskins made up QUICK! Thanks to this forum I have some awesome gear and have alot of learning in the field.. Cause we all know I've spent DAYS reading and reading.. Cant wait to get out and get more proficient! Thanks EVERYONE!
