    Question Underquilt for larger guys

I'm looking at an underquilt, and I'm wondering what you larger hangers like. I'm 6'4", and about 340 lbs. I want to go with a full length UQ, because my feet tend to get cold. It will be used on my WBBB most of the time, and occasionally on my ENO Doublenest.

I think I've decided on a 20* UGQ Zeppelin, mainly because it seems to be wider than most others. Anyone have any other suggestions? It would be used for 3 season use here in Michigan.

    6'4" and 385 here.

Paul and Missy at Underground Quilts do fantastic work. Their 50* Flight Jacket is my favorite top quilt, and an Underquilt from them is on my wish list. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

All of my under quilts have some extra width. I have both a full length and a 3/4 length and am glad I added a few inches so that I can pull it up just a bit higher than my shoulder on the head side.

My UQ's happen to be synthetic from AHE but no doubt any one of the cottage vendors would be willing to do a little custom work.

    Thumbs up

Hey, i am 6 ft 2 and 365 lbs and ordered my underquilts from Underquilts.com and love them.
When i first ordered my quilts i recieved an email asking me if i needed any extra width or length, i didnt even have to ask, he asked me first, I ended up with a pretty good sized uq, and the best part was that he did not even charge for the extra length or width, Same thing with my tq but only better as he now has a very nice duck down fill and the prices are very reasonable.
Check out the website and see what he will do for you, i am glad i did! http://www.underquilts.com/

check all the cottage vendors. ask them directly what measurements they can do for you. most can and will personalize a UQ/TQ for you. from there it will be the hard choice of WHO to go with. price, response time, customer service etc. most standard length UQ are 78" or 6'6" you would want a longer one for colder weather. for the width I would suggest you measure across your shoulders as that is what needs covering with the UQ as well and the more info you can give the vendors, the better they can help.

Is he still doing this since he was diagnosed with cancer? I remember him saying he'd gotten behind.

I decided to go with a custom Zeppelin from UGQ. Lots of good advice from them helped me decide on adding 6" of length and 8" of width. Now I just have to wait...
