Dude, what in the world were you doing to cause that? The bead is just along for the ride and shouldn't be under any compression.

It is light weight and will not break.
Having not tried that. I did, works great.

My Dutch whoopie kit showed up and tried it out last night. Works great! Was nervous at first since I didn't think about my continuos loop settling after my Hennessy conversion. Each side settled about an inch when I got in for the first time. Thought I might have done the conversion wrong for a split second. But then everything turned out fine.

Nah, if you must have bling, cut a small piece of lightweight copper or brass tubing to use instead of a bead. Hobby Lobby has small pieces. You can polish it to a shine.

I crimp a small stainless steel S-hook on mine. It won't break and you can hang stuff from it. I don't use it to hang the hammock.

Splice in a cord, eliminate all beads unless you think they r pretty

Some of us remove those irritating beads and bury a 1-2" length of cord there instead with a fid. There have been numerous threads about this over the years. Some of us probably thought we were the first ones to discover it. A cord that fits inside a cord!

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ll-Through-Mod

You don't need to use the same type of cordage as W.S. to splice into the loop to prevent it from pulling through. Any rope or cord that is about the same diameter or thicker will work, best to be water resistant like, poly, nylon, or dyneema. You can use a bent paper clip to pull a longer piece and then cut it shorter after it is in there. Read some of the other threads. My favorite fid is an extra long upholstery needle but those cheap plastic ones from Hobby Lobby work well, and about 20 other items, any thin bent wire.
