I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this, but I haven't seen it mentioned, so...
I tether the foot end of my top quilt to either the ridge line or the foot end suspension with a bit of small shock cord. This does two things: it's much easier to get in and out of the foot box, and it keeps the foot end from falling out of the hammock when I get up. Some quilts already have a hang loop on the foot box, and in some cases you may need to add one.
