Thanks for the advice everyone. Much appreciated.
I've owned just about every hammock except a DD. I've watched a friend of mine use his for years without a thought of switching so I gave in and got the expedition. Probably not the last hammock I will buy and I use a dream hammock as my cold weather hammock, but I've hung this a few times in my yard and can tell this WILL be my go to hammock. I think no "improvements" or updates have been made to the hammock because why fix what's not broken? It works amazingly so I see no need to make any type of changes to it.
I have tested out the WBBB, DD Travel and soon to test the DD Frontline. I Love the WBBB and I know it is favored by many hangers. Check out my website for some reviews if you want the link is below.
I think I would go with the WBBB and purchase a tarp. You can get inexpensive tarps to start yourself off. I really like the DD Tarp although it is heavy. Jacks R Better make nice tarps too and they are lighter than the DD Tarps.
I have not tried the Claytor Hammock but out of the ones you listed my preference is WBBB and I have the same height and weight as you.
Also keep in mind that you can get a no-net hammock and purchase a bug net to go with it. Hammock bliss has a net/tarp called the Sky Tent 2 that is really cool. They also sell an individual bug net. Ticket To The Moon also have good combinations for No-net hammock, bug net and tarp.
