Are the SB models all designed asymmetrical in their cuts?

Yes, all of the Switchback models, including the Switchback LightHiker are designed for a head left/feet right diagonal lay.

That's too funny. I own one and didn't know that.
Neither did I! hmmm that was one of the main things I liked ab the SB v the BB: the ability to lie any way and on either end.
So maybe THAT's why some people talk ab shoulder squeeze or whatever.
I found that I could stretch it more taut and I just got a flatter lay. No asym used.
- Is that a function of the cut and shape of the bed,
- or of where tie-outs or amenities (eg footboxes) are located?
Asking because it was a surprise to many, me included, to learn that the bed of a Hennessy was a rectangle and that the it remained symmetric in the gathering of the ends.
The Switchback hammock bed is a rectangular piece of fabric with channel ends. There is no fancy cut about it, every angle is 90°.
