Looking for a lightweight material for a triple purpose sit hammock/pack cover/gear hammock.
Wondering if the lightweight stuff like Membrane Silpoly and Xenon Sil will be strong enough to take my 92kg (202lb)?

Usually in an uncoated fabric, its the ~1.0oz nylon fabrics with 8 way ripstop ( Hexon 1.0, Robic ) that is recommended for a hammock for someone your weight. Membrane Silpoly is .7oz polyester taffeta + coating, so not only is the underlying fabric lighter than the recommended uncoated hammock fabric, its polyester which is weaker than nylon, it doesn't have the 8 way ripstop for strength.
So in a coated fabric that supports your weight, you'll need something at least 1oz nylon ripstop before coating. So it will probably be at least a 1.3oz after coating.

And what happens if it rains on your pack cover?

I think the problem you'll face is there's no easy solution to accommodate all three situations. A pack cover needs to a water resistant (read:non-breathable) fabric. It doubles nicely as a gear hammock because we typically don't dump a lot of stuff into it. The issue you'll face trying to make it be a sit hammock as well is the weight capacity. Those ultralight fabrics just aren't designed to handle that much weight. You may be able to get away with a 1.6 oz sil fabric, but at a weight penalty for an every-now-and-again thing. Why not just string the hammock up quickly when you want to sit? I can't imagine the process being any less quick.

Hmm, praps it would be lighter to go for a 5' hexon 1.0 sit/gear hammock and a cuben pack/poncho. Time to get a calculator out.
