    Newbie Englishman living in AZ

    Hey All,

I am new to this forum. I decided to get involved after trying to do research for a scouting project. I ended up making my own hammock from a bed sheet (it was too small) so i decided to buy a Grand Trunk Ultralight. I just need to find time to go hammock camping now.

YEAH! Another Arizona hanger! Welcome. I love the Grand Trunk Ultralight and have several of them. We are having a group hang October 22-24, if you'd like to join us. We're going to West Clear Creek. I'm sure we can bring some extra under quilts (Te-Wa, our local sewing celebrity, may bring some extras too).

Glad to see that I'm not the only one whose first hammock was a bedsheet (I'm 6'5", so needless to say the whole bedsheet-as-hammock thing was an absolute nightmare (but still better than sleeping in a tent on a rock on the ground )).

Welcome to the forum, by the way! I lived in Meza, AZ for a year or so when I was a kid. That's got to be some pretty prickly hanging. I'm looking forward to reading about what AZ hanging is like, so make sure to post trip reports when it happens.

    Enjoy!
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Welcome to the the world of hammocks. Your lucky to have a fellow hanger like Dejoha in your neck of the woods.

Thanks for the notes everyone. I would have loved to be able to go on the hammock trip, but unfortunately those dates are a no go, but I will keep an eye out for the next one.
