This was quick overnight trip to the White Mountains. I was meeting friends the next morning to stay at one of the huts on the slopes of New England's second highest peak, Mt. Adams. So I drove up the previous day, parked at the Appalachia trailhead and hiked in a ways for a quick night of camping. The snow was still fairly firm but it was 35 degrees and a light rain was falling. Not exactly the winter trip I was hoping for. I brought my 0° quilts because I had just finished the set and I wasn't going to let winter tell me what to do! It made for a very warm night.
Overall, a fine night in the woods. I had a great hanging spot and one of my best nights of sleep. I once again tried out the alcohol stove which fared much better this time. Glad for one more cold-ish night of camping this season.
