I chose to move the date one week later than normal. We will return to CV2area of Charles Deam wilderness in the Hoosier National Forest. This is our tried and true area used for many years. If you search the Forum for Hoosier Hang you will find maps and instruction available. If someone would like to add maps and instruction to this post, please feel free to do so.
Everyone no matter where you live are invited to attend. We have had one man attend from North Carolina. We even accept ground dwellers.(they're usually ok)
This is a laid back group ages 16-74. Many hike the trails while others just relax around the fire and play cards. For mountain bikers there are trails available to ride. BYOB and food. Water is available to filter.
Going to try something a little different this year. As some of you know, I have a 2014 red Chevy Silverado 4x4 with a black soft cover on the bed. Until I started locking the tailgate some were using it as their trash dump on the way out. I will leave the tailgate unlocked this year(no trash please). Inside you will find a red tote with my gear cleanout items. Feel free to help yourselves, but leave the tote. There is an assortment of items including alcohol stoves, Twig stoves, minibull design stoves, pack liners and other items. If you would like to leave your unwanted items for others, please feel free.
It may be mid afternoon before I arrive, but will be there till Sunday.
For the Newbies, this is a great opportunity to see different setups and learn from experience Hangers(Hammock Hangers)
