I definitely would be concerned about no side to side support. I rock my hammock.
It wouldn't be hard to add the side supports but by the time you're done it would have been easier to just use one pole and a couple guylines/stakes.

Looks like fun
Something similar, various Tensa trekking trees, and Tensa solo.
I saw one set up and used whole weekend at Palmetto State Hangers camp at Santee State Park.
And I’ve seen them at Yates, and John Rock.
This gives possibility of hammock camping with only one tree! And also if two poles are used, hammock camping can be done with no tree in camp!
Yes, you are right—no side support.
But the pole-poles could be longer than they look, and be buried deep in sand.
I don’t know.
It does look barely strong enough to hold hammocker up off the beach sand.

There's always this method when you have a solid ground anchor or distant tree, and only one good tree.

Yes MrJames, single pole in video does not have any side to side guylines for pole, and the pole is not deep in the ground, just a small divot in ground to keep base of pole from traveling——YET it works!
WOW!
Well, it works until it doesn't.
Completely different kind of sand !!
But point made ... with the right kind of support, one can hang a hammock virtually anywhere (with or without trees).
Personally, I'd trust your set up more than the beach hanger. But then again, if my support fails, I'd much rather have my butt land on that soft, powdery, beach sand than that hard-baked, concrete-like, desert sand, so I might be inclined to take a riskier approach at that particular beach.
~ All I want is affordable, simple, ultralight luxury. That’s not asking too much is it?
But it's only hard until I put a stake in, then it crumbles to powder again. I may have to use a hammer to put them in but then I could take them out by hand and push them back in w/o much trouble.
It is true that I haven't broken up the sand under me . . . may have to consider that. Of course it would probably blow away in our next wind storm and it would just look like we were setting up for a pig roast.
