    Folding indoors stand

    Hi all! 👋

I haven't been here in a while. Life got in the way for my camping plans, but I still have hope. The few nights I slept in my hammock I slept incredibly well though.

I often wake up with aches and pains and stiffness in my bed at home. So I'm thinking of getting one of those big South American cotton hammocks. I live in an apartment in an old house from the beginning of the last century. What comes out of the walls when you drill into them is something of a surprise, which makes me wary of mounting the hammock that way.

Nights can get very hot in summer. The walls are thick and they store heat during the day and radiates it back during the night. Open windows doesn't help much.

So, I'm thinking of a hammock stand. That way I could sleep in any room and for example choose the coolest one when it's hot and the least drafty one in winter (yes, it's drafty too).

Those wooden stands look very nice. But they are huge. So my question is this. Are there any such stands or any other type of stand that sort of fold so they take up less space during the day? I'm thinking if it could at least be folded in two I could push it against a wall and there would still be some living space left. I after all want to keep my other furniture too.

There is always the Tensa4. It needs an anchor but maybe locking the anchor line behind a door hinge would work. Best get opinions on that so nothing is damaged.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I am using two "home-made" door anchors to hang between. It works. But the decorative part of the door splits a little and doesn't fully recover. I haven't tried to repair or paint it. The choice of where to hang is limited. The doors and hammock can't be used at the same time. Needs to be removed and then set up.

A couple screw eyes in to studs is much better. Many choices of where to hang. More people know how to repair a wall than a door. It's more permanent and better for long term use. Can hang the hammock on the wall if it's in the way.

I am using a Tensa 4 inside and use a cinderblock as a tie down point.

That, or a 5 gallon (18.9L?) plastic bucket with rocks, sand, concrete, whatever.

Thanks. But I don't think that Tensa thing would work for me. Is that really all there is?

It's hard to imagine anything that would take up less space than a Tensa4 or be as portable (moving from room to room.)
