Hey guys, I'm new here, but I'm an active DIYer in the more gravitationally displaced UL arena.
Interested in getting into hammocking, but buying a tree sling seems like cheating.
I've got a ton of the lighter weight dwr ripstop from the walmart buck-fidy bin, maybe 20yards or so... It's more like 1.1oz(approx, I haven't cut off a yard to weight it, but I did some 9th-grade math on some stuff sacs I made) stuff, 56" wide, selvage to selvage.
Is this stuff too weak, or too narrow?
I'm about 5"9-10", and ~155ish.
I'm pretty new to this scene, but a basic asym design seems doesn't seem to hard to get started on. Although I'm obsessed with bridge style, as I've recently started having LCL/MCL probs with my knees. So any advice would be helpful.
If I need to save this fabric for other things, I will.
Thanks guys!
P.S. I've got my work cut out for me sorting through all the info here.
