Did you try it with a pad? That helps a lot of side sleepers with a bridge. Stomach sleeping is a little harder. Since I like to flare my legs out when I kind of side / stomach sleep, I have found that I prefer my shoulders at the narrower end of a bridge. It creates more of a shoulder squeeze if you switch to your back, but I like the more room at the bottom.
