I have Superfly Spinn UL 132"x126" and will hang the tarp over the ridgeline. I'm on the AT/east coast, though hope to get to Washington state where I've heard trees grow a tad larger in diameter.
What length do you use for a tarp ridgeline? Is 80ft too long?
Tarp guyline length?
I had hoped to make whoopie slings but ran of time, so I was going to order from opie or Paul, then ran out of time to figure out what I needed. So, it'll be plain ol' knots on this trip.
I've been reading for the last week but haven't turned up the thread with all sources of knowledge, or maybe I missed it.
I leave in two days for the Okefenokee Swamp (GA) and Suwannee River (FL). Hope to hang in a Warbonnet Blackbird but am bringing my Tarptent Rainshadow in case I have to go to ground (ugh). I may pick up a Neo Air medium as backup. Even with my REI coupon, it's wildly expensive, but one day on the ground this weekend with the Boy Scouts on a regular Thermarest was insufferable (next night was in the Blackbird, no tarp, viewing the stars, ahh).
TIA for your tips.
