Do you find that you're able to push the limit of your under quilt like you are a top quilt? I have a 30* top quilt that I use for ground sleeping. I know that if the temps drop into the 20's, I can layer up and still stay warm "enough". I'd prefer to carry a 30 to save some weight and still get me into the 20's in a pinch. Typically, if it's going to be below freezing, I'm going to ground with a warmer pad and a full mummy bag. I just like to have a little wiggle room for those nights where it floats right around freezing.
