I've been doing a lot of searching around for alternative materials for hammock making and I stumbled across a re purposing of an existing product as an ultralight hammock sock.

These are made of spun-bonded polypropylene non-woven fabric. That material is breathable, hydrophobic, very light, and super cheap. This product I found is a $8 bag 6' deep and 8' wide. It comes with a drawcord. The amazon link says 1.6 oz for the whole bag but I find that hard to believe.
One could buy two, pop a hole through the end of each bag for the hammock suspension to pass through, and slide one bag onto each end of the hammock. These things are advertised to raise ambient temperature by up to 8 degrees for plants. If that's true, imagine what a body would do.
