I love Tenacious Tape.
Clean area.
Round Corners.
One side of damaged area or both sides.
Just follow the instructions with the tape.
I have patches on stuff that I frequently use, over ten years old with several washings. Still works well and no color fade.
The tape takes a few hours to really adhere. Which is helpful if you want or need to adjust the position.
I’ve used tenacious tape on a couple tiny holes in a hammock. It seems to be working well. Today I repaired a hole on my down jacket with tear aid. Looks good so far.
