Good stuff. I'm still using my GT parachute single. I've tried plenty of cottage vendor hammocks, but for some reason the GT is just more comfortable...MUCH more comfortable. I have no idea why. I even took the suspension out on 3 of my hammocks and laid them flat to compare; all the same length and width. Still baffled! I guess that only leaves the fabric itself. I'm carrying an extra 3oz of "unnecessary" weight due to the weight limit on this hammock, but it's worth the comfort.
BTW, those flag hammocks are cool looking but I personally don't think they're appropriate. US flag t-shirts, grayish area...hammocks, even grayer.
The Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter Pro was my second hammock. I never read a bad review on one; so, when I came across one on sale I nabbed it. It is always in the trunk of my car for a "just in case". I think, with no confrontation intended to the two individuals quoted, calling it a "starter hammock" doesn't do it justice. I have several from the big name higher dollar makers and the Skeeter Beeter Pro runs with them so well, I often question my purchase of the higher dollar hammocks.
No offense taken. When I used the term "starter" hammock, I was in no way inferring that it is of lesser quality than other hammocks out there. I apologize for the confusion.
The reason I used the term "starter" is because most folks who are looking into hammock camping for the first time will come across Grand Trunk, Eno, or Kammock as the best options. They are all very popular on Amazon, and are thoroughly reviewed. The likelihood of a total beginner stumbling upon the likes of Warbonnet, Dream Hammock, etc...is much less. The term was not meant to denote quality, but rather the likelihood that a new hammock camper will purchase it.

I agree with your analysis rweb82.
Great stuff. My GT Skeeter Beeter Pro had a rip around the zipper area, sent them a picture and contact info. then a few days later a brand new GTSB Pro arrived. Excellent service.
Straight out of Clayton.
Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.
I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
I am impatiently waiting for my SKP to arrive today.
Correction, I have it in my hands and wish I could hang it in my office!
