Thanks soo much. Super easy with such good help.
Ken, this looks really easy. However, I'm wondering how you are hanging your tarp. The tarp for my HH Asym Zip connects to the suspension ropes via prusik knots. If I replace those ropes with whoopies, then I don't see how I can tension the tarp with the prusiks if they are connected to the whoopies. Maybe it could be done.
Did you decide to go with an independent tarp suspension?
Fubba28, the reason for the additional length between the fixed eye bury and the constrictor of the whoopie sling is so you can attach your prusik loop for the tarp hook in that area. There should be enough space to allow one to properly center and tension the tarp.
Thanks for pointing that out, Smokebait. Do you know offhand what the length between the fixed eye bury and the constrictor should be? I'm sure I can find it somewhere in this thread, but if you could save me some time.....
I've been using a 3.5 to 5" distance between my fixed eye bury and the constrictor. I started with 5" but have shortened the distance since I realized my tarp had to cover the dangling end of the constrictor loop on the whoopie, so rain comes down the whoopie and goes down the dangling end, which acts as a drip string.
I'm going to go over this thread again, but I'm thinking that I should use 6.5 ft. whoopies, with 12 in. between fixed eye loop and constrictor. That will give me some room to tension the tarp with prusik loops.

Thank you so much for that!!!! I'm brand new to all this and my friend explained the system to me, but i couldn't remember the process.
Sweet job on this video- helped lots.
Great informational video, esp for a visual learner like me.
Thanks for the video with your help on the video I made my first Whoop Slings for my Hennessy. Who said an old dog can't learn a new trick.
By the way they turned out great.

Hi,
I ordered a set of whoopies and tried to attach them to my Hennessey but the set I have don't have enough distance between the fixed loop and the bury for me to loop around the gathered end of the hammock before tying it off.
There's just enough length for me to tie a larks head around the second hole (the one that would be nearest the tree) but I'm worried that it may not be strong enough. Even if the amsteel holds, I can't help but think that the material in the hammock end won't be able to take the pressure, as all the weight will be going through such a small surface area.
Here's a photo...
Looks like it won't hold, don't you think? Or am I just being paranoid?
Appreciate your help guys...Sig.
