ViDEO: Hanging from One Tree with NoGround Hiking Pole

Been getting to know my NoGround Hiking Pole/Hammock Stand/Bridge Spreader Bar.
It is doing what RaftingTigger said it would.
The tricky and got-to-get-creative-part is in the staking into the ground. It may vary depending upon your soil and body weight but is holding my 190 pounds so far.
So....here is the video so far.

The NGHP looked solid when you showed it as you were getting in your hammock and even bouncing up and down. I've had trees that moved more with me!

I'm heavier than you and exceed the recommended weight capacity but maybe I can shed what I need to lose to use something like this.

Shug, do you have a feel for how two of these might perform on a sandy beach with appropriate stakes? My idea of heaven on earth would be in a hammock, on the beach.

Very informative video and amazingly ingenious product. Thanks to both Rafting Tigger and Shug for letting us know about this!

Thanks for this explanatory video tour of this intriguing product; I feel like I have a much better understanding of its engineering, configuration, and assembly after watching this.

Has a price point been set on the current version that you're testing (per pole or per pair)? Do you happen to know if the necessary conversion parts to go from hiking pole to hammock stand included or sold separately?

You could but it is all in the staking. Use these http://www.toughstake.com or pvc or something. A few on here do pitch at beachs. A search may find that.

Interesting. Not sure when I will be back down to 190 and still be healthy. ;-) It is an interesting product.

It's probably worth mentioning that with the screw lock rings that is rated working load not max load.
    YMMV

Very fun to consider the options here...like hanging in a desert, or beach, or high in the Rockies...

It definitely adds a new level of fiddlyness to hammocks, but hey, fiddling is FUN (or can be fun depending on the circumstance!) I'm definitely interested in this product. Would love the know the weight of this setup...or even a ball-park of the weight. I am guessing a few pounds..maybe three. But since the main bar can be a hiking pole, that helps.

    Thanks for this video Shug

I've been following her product since the beginning. I've been close to ordering several times but this damned pond between the states and Europe, does makes it less of a "lets just try it out". I've had confidence in her system for a while and you just proved it to be solid. Looking forward to your next video on these poles
