I've had a number of inquiries about a simpler and less expensive form of the NoGround poles for car camping. Since I often use a larger diameter unsupported pole as one side of my testing rig for the NoGround Trekking poles, making such an item should not be a challenge. Previously there was a technical issue (my manufacturing limits) on making such a pole in multiple parts, but that issue has been solved with some new tooling.
The idea is in the prototyping stage. Specs so far are: 3-piece shock-corded unsupported 6' (72") 1" OD aluminum pole. Folds to 26" long. Approx pole weight 1.5# for regular or 2.5# for HD. Est retail cost of $20 for regular and $30 for HD. I'm setting a recommended weight limit of 250# on the regular, and 400# on the HD. The NG trekking guyline system and anchoring system are compatible. Stouter (heavier too) anchors are also an option with the CarCamp version.
I'll post pictures when I can.
