Hi, has anyone hammocked in any of the campgrounds around Twin Lakes or have a suggestion for dispersed camping in that area? Stopping over there after some fishing to get some elevation time in before moving on to my next destination. Thanks!

There are some good hangs along the Colorado Trail on the south side of Twin Lakes.
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

The family and I stayed at Lakeview Campground directly above Twin Lakes. In the regulations they hand out it specifically says not hanging anything from the trees, including hammocks. There is dispersed camping above the campground though with a lot of opportunities to hang, but when we were there, there were a lot of ATV's and dirt bikes buzzing around up there.
If you plan on fishing, I can recommend Kastmasters from the shore by the power plant. We were hammering the stockers but there are nice, eatable size fish in there.
Thanks for the insight everybody, especially about the atv's. I have some possible options for some dispersed camping outside the area.
