I have reserved the Snow Peak Cabin for the nights of the 19th and 20th of June. It is a 5 mile hike to the cabin from the trailhead which is quite scenic. From the cabin some of the higher peaks in Eastern Washington can be accessed for a day hike. This located in the 13 Mile Roadless Area of Washington. This is a section of the PNT that I have hiked several times since I was in grade school but have never stayed at the cabin before so I am very much looking forward to it. The max occupancy of the cabin is 4 individuals with dispersed camping allowed nearby 2 slots are filled including myself. Water is available about 1/2 from the cabin at that time of year. Edd's Mt, Copper Butte, Snow Peak, Bald Mt and Sherman Peak are all accessible as day hikes from here with many other options if you're more ambitious. Saw plenty of rain and sun with lows in the upper 30s and TONS of wildlife including bears (met 4 that trip), coyotes, deer, moose, and more small critters than you can shake a stick at. I've never run into problems with the locals, the area is traveled infrequently and they're all very skittish. I grew up less than hour drive from the trailhead and know the area well and will be acting as guide for my friend who is going as well.
I'll be leaving from Spokane on the morning of the 19th, please note this is Father's Day, and can provide transportation from there if traveling from outside the local area as long as you don't mind traveling with my dog and I. This part of the Colville National forest so pets are welcome as long as they are not harassing the critters.
