Question More Fabric Options in the Future?

I say I love my xlc. But I'd be very interested in seeing WB venture to some of the newer fabrics available. I would quickly order a BB in a hexon fabric. The only option right now is DIY, which I am not really prepared for. Plus, I'd rather support the original designers and get the real deal. Along with a single layer that would support my big butt.

    Just a suggestion/thought...

i tried suggesting something similar to another vendor, the way they gently declined implied that everyone kinda wants to do thier own thing with their own supplies? i dunno, seems like if all the vendors used the entire repretior of fabrics/cordage or whatever that we'd be a big socialist party of hammock hangers not just stepping on toes, but literally standing on them. i want all of my gears to be in hexon lol

I think Brandon prefers to stick with fabrics that he knows holds up to the use and abuse over time. I know my BB's are still going strong after 6 years.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

WB describes their 1.7 as 70D nylon. I'm familiar with the HH ultra light explorer which is made out of 70D nylon taffeta. Do you know if those are the same fabrics and/or feel the same?

I've been thinking about upgrading my WBBB to a different model. Adding the 1.6 Hexon that everyone is raving about as an option would be worth waiting for I think.

Now that I have both, I can answer my question. Both are silky smooth, the 70D nylon used by WB is a bit smoother and has just a little bit more stretch.

I also have hammocks in 1.6 hexon and 2.4 hexon. Stretch of the 70D nylon used by WB is similar to the 1.6 hexon, but the hexon has a much better feel, is less slippery, lighter and packs smaller.
