North Georgia Weekend Hang - In The Teens?

So we are heading to Gooch Mountain Shelter this Sunday night for anyone who might be interested. This is one of my favorite camping sites on the Georgia AT.

You can park at Woody Gap on GA HWY 60 and hike 5 miles south on the AT or drive up to Gooch Gap with a hike only 1 1/4 mile to the camp site.

Gooch Mountain Shelter has water, a privy, and a nice shelter which won't be needed as we will be in our hammocks.

Given the weather outlook, we will likely have the place to ourselves.

If anyone is interested in joining us, shoot me a PM and I will send you the exact directions to Gooch Gap.

I will be humping in adult beverages and cow soon to be cooked.

For anyone joining us, I will bring in a choice cut of steak free of charge if you reply back before 6 pm on Saturday. After that I am heading to Fresh Market to fill the order.

It is going to be seriously cold on Sunday. Something tells me this is going to be worth it.

Really, nobody else wants to take him up on that? C'mon, upper teens isn't all that bad. Besides, doesn't anybody want to see me freeze my buns solid when I test out my ridiculous theories of how down insulation works? Should be a beautiful evening, hope to see more folks there.
