    New Gear Purchased!!

Well i just pulled the trigger on two new pieces of gear! That's a great way to start the new year right?! I got a new Half-wit Hammock from Dutch and a ULA Circuit pack. Going into my third year of backpacking...so needless to say i'm finally jumping on the ultra light bandwagon. I'm not getting any younger, so the pack may as well be lighter! If you have either of these products i'd like to know your thoughts and any tips. I did option for the whoopie slings, and this will be my first set of those. Let me know what you think!

Nice. I'm looking at buying my first hammock and I'm thinking about the half-wit from dutch. Ive been a backpacker for years starting with the scouts. Looking at go lighter as well and with getting into hammocking i want to lighten the load. I was looking at the ULA Ohm 2.0 for a pack upgrade. I guess were thinking along the same lines but your ahead of me!

Half Wit from Dutch are a great ultralight Hammock. Him and his crew do some awesome work. His shop and machines are crazy. I have 4 of his Hammocks and love them. Dream Hammocks build some great gathered ends as well. My goto Hammock of choice is my 72" wide Roaming Gnome.
ULA is another great selection. I have the ohm and the Circuit. If you just started lightening your system up the ohm may be a little snug. I use that for overnighters and weekends and save the Circuit or my Zimmerbuilt for week longs. All in all; you have some great Gear coming your way.

Well...I have to say...both items came in and they are legit! I can't say enough about the attention to detail and craftsmanship of both products. Not to mention the weight! Both items are crazy light. I loaded up my Circuit last night with my usual gear and couldn't believe how much room I had, and how well it carried the load. If you're looking to lighten your load, definitely check out these two companies!!

I have been on the fence about the half wit. How is the half bug net? Do you find that it stays covering you if you move a lot at night? I have a double layer warbonnet now and it doesnt stretch much, does the half wit have a lot of give?

Congrats on the new gear! Let us know how you like the half wit. I am also curious if the bug net stays in place as you move or if you have to adjust it everytime you move at night.
