Like the subject says, I am brand new to the world of Hammocks. In fact, I haven't even gotten a chance to hang yet. I recently got a Yukon Outfitter Double Hammock, 2 black Diamond Neutrino carabiners, and 2 am steel whoopie slings. My question is, do I need tree straps in order to set up my hammock? I have watched a lot of videos, and I see majority of hammockers using them and then using a marlin hitch with a toggle. I did not know if this was necessary or not.
I am open to any suggestions as to suspension set ups and things like that. Also open to suggestions for things to purchase in order for me to get started.
