Is there any interest in glow-in-the-dark Dyneema line, like Amsteel Blue, to keep your friends from running into your suspension? This would be a continuous glow, not reflective tracers, but glow-in-the-dark charged by the sun.

I think glowing suspension may have appeal. However, having to be charged by the sun would degrade the line rapidly - and that's a no-no.
Am I missing something?
Just hang your hammock as you normally do and the sun that falls on your whoopee sling will charge the line. No more sun than your line already experiences. Alternatively a flashlight can be used to charge the line if you are hanging it up late in the day. This is no different than any other glow-in-the-dark type product. I was simply trying to point out that it's not a reflective product.
But what product is it? Nothing like that is currently avaialbe from any manufacture of line or webbing. An add on coating like the glow in the dark paint that you can get in the craft stores would wear off with minimal use so it would need to be somehting made into the line....not likely to happen with something like amsteel. It's mass produced by a major manufacture and with all of the amsteel ever used by hammock campers we don't add up to one days production for what it's made for so a custom made item like that is not likely to come out of their factory.
The other side is that the far majority of folks don't want to be seen and would prefer even more subdued colors rather than some that stand out more.

It would be a UHMWPE line like Dyneema brand and Spectra brand. The glow properties would be built into the fiber, not painted on afterwards. It can be produced in lower volume.
Putting that aside, I'm more interested in whether people would get excited for a glow-in-the-dark suspension line. Other comments along these lines would be helpful.
interested but need more info. Price, availability, color...

How are you going to charge the cord? My gear stays in my pack all day until I set up camp and most hammocks are in the shade because they're hanging from two trees.

Well, I can't see the practical use for backpackers as they usually don't hang their hammock until almost dark time and even if someone is camping their hammock suspension will most likely be in the shade because they hang from trees for the most part.
Although it is a cool idea, I personally don't see how it would be practical for hangers.
