ATtroll has deer aplenty and ticks to boot!
We don't have a big tick problem. We get a tick now and then but not a big problem.

If anyone wants to cook a meal in a dutch oven, we will have one.
We also have some venison if someone wants to cook it up, just let me know.
The black flies have lightened up a little but you may still want to bring bug dope.
Is anyone bringing any kids? I did not see any on the list.

This will be my first hang. Looking forward to it!

I'm off on Friday. What time do the festivities start?

I was planning on running up around noon to help Rick with the firepit.

[and, yes, my blackflies here 15 miles away were noticeably fewer yestiddy than previously]

Please allow me to translate for the newbies. They will drive you absolutely crazy, instead of bat-sh*t crazy.

Not kidding, Amanda and I have motorcycle camped extensively in the far northeast and Maritime Canada, during black-fly season. When a native Mainer says they're not too bad, that really means about 25 of those *******s constantly buzzing you. Now IF he say's they are BAD, then that really means hundreds, or thousands of those things swarming you.
Do yourselves a favor and pick up a cheap bug net before you come, it's cheap insurance to keep your sanity. A net, long sleeves and pants, a little bug spray and you'll be fine.

I could come up around the same time and help with setting up. I don't want to be a nuisance though so I can show up later if that's better.

    Ten Dollahs

Stumpy Grinder and his wife Martha were from Portland, Maine. Every year they went to the Portland Fair, and every year Stumpy said " Ya know Mahtha, I'd like ta get a ride in that theah aihplane."

and every year Martha would say "I know Stumpy, but that ihplane ride costs ten dollahs.... and ten dollahs is ten dollahs."

So Stumpy says " By Jeebers Mahtha, I'm 71 yeahs old, if I don't go this time I may nevah go."

Martha replies " Stumpy, that there aihplane ride is ten dollahs...and ten dollahs is ten dollahs."

So the pilot overhears them and says " Folks, I'll make you a deal, I'll take you both up for a ride, if you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say ONE word, I won't charge you, but just one word and it's ten dollars."

They agree and up they go.... the pilot does all kinds of twists and turns, rolls and dives, but not a word is heard, he does it one more time, still nothing... so he lands.

He turns to Stumpy as they come to a stop and says " By golly, I did everything I could think of to get you to holler out, but you didn't."

And Stumpy replies " Well, I was gonna say something when Mahtha fell out...but ten dollahs is ten dollahs!
