Question UK / EU Source for Sil-Poly?

Hi All, does anyone know a UK or EU source for Sil-Poly? I'm looking for an equivalent of the Silpoly 1.1 or Membrane Silpoly 0.93 available from RSBTR for a very lightweight tarp. I've checked all the places I can think of such as extremtextil, point north, and penine outdoor and sadly come up empty handed. I can order from RSBTR of course but would prefer to avoid the shipping cost.

    Cheers!

    Hey Andy.

I think we have been on a similar quest. But I wasn't looking for ultralight.
Point North 2oz nylon with PU coating, approx 60gsm. Turned up and is actually 98gsm, so I can't be bothered doing a tarp with it.

The most suitable I've seen is this, but anything lighter is looking like a US order is needed.

You could have a look at shelbyoutdoor.com.

I have about 750 cm dark olive Membrane silpoly left, that I ordered from RbtR back in 2015. I think it was sold as 1.03 oz fabric. I can't say anything about it, since I never made anything with it. Too little time, too little space (for a tarp project).

Thank you! That stuff looks like the 1.1oz/sqyd silpoly to me and is not a bad price (total) as it only has to ship from Slovenia. Have you had anything from them?

Thank you for the offer and the link to shelby. That's not going to be enough for my tarp I'm afraid...I'm not quite that small

I haven't ordered from them yet. Less work recently means top end fabric will have to wait for now.

They also have a listing on ebay

$78 Postage from RSBTR with FedEx for me. Highland postage nearly double anywhere else in the UK.

Ouch! www.adventurexpert.com Have no feedback on ebay within the last year. I'm not sure I want to be a guinea pig It would be good to hear from anyone who has actually dealt with them and can vouch for the quality of the materials and service. I'm really surprised that www.extremtextil.de do not carry sil-poly but they confirmed to me in a very recent email that .. "We always looking for a good silpoly, but at the moment we don't have one in our range of goods."

I am UK based and have used adventurexpert, but only for buckles and cord. Good service from them for that though, would be happy to use them again.
    Regards
