DIY no see-um ridgeline organizer - lots of pictures!

Just finished this project. Weight is 0.25 oz (7 grams). Final dimensions were 12.5" x 6.5". Sorry for the low-quality pictures. The initial dimensions depicted are approximate - you can make the organizer any size, within reason. On step 5 I made the mistake of sewing the bottom edge of the pockets. No big deal, but it is probably better to sew them at the end.

Cool how yours has that center section. I'm new, so I'm unsure if others do this or not yours is the first I have seen. Is there a ridge line channel? If not, does it shift with the items if not balanced?

Great idea with the center pouch..Perfect spot to toss my Smart-Water bottle or Mora...Might have to make one for my next hammock...Thanks for sharing..

Would like to add a suggestion...Instead of 3 different pieces of material just use one and fold each end over to create the pockets. Then just run one row of stitching down it to create the center pocket.

That's BRILLIANT, definitely a better way. Thanks for the suggestion. I feel like "duh, I should have thought about that."

This is not field-tested yet. But one easy improvement would be to sew a narrow channel on the top, and run the ridgeline through it. This would probably take care of any balance issues.

With a Google search like this "diy ridgeline organizer site:hammockforums.net", I found several links, including the one that pushed me to the thread injector: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=31773.

Others sparked the idea of using noseeum mesh, and the one from papasmurf sealed the deal - you can see nice photos of that one by clicking his link above.

So the credit goes to the collective. Thanks to all.
