    Howdy from South Carolina

Hello all. Name's Bill and I live in Charleston SC. I've got almost half a century of camping / outdoor experience, but not so much when it comes to hanging. My first camping hammock was an Expedition 2.5 from Hennessy Hammocks, but I've got to admit I never took to it. I just didn't like feeling trapped inside, and I'm a very "active" sleeper to boot. It's spent most of its life in the bag it came in while I went back to sleeping in a Big Agnes bag & pad in the dirt.

Now I'm planning a big-time cross country motorcycle trip and have decided that a hammock's the way to go. To that end I'm outfitting myself again. My new rig is a Warbonnet DL Ridge Runner, AHE 25º top & under-quilts, and my trusty Noah's 16 tarp. So far so good.

I've got a while before I actually saddle up and ride, and I'm planning to use that time to shake out the bugs in my off-bike camping gear. Sure am looking forward to the benefit of your collective experiences.

    Thanks much!

Thanks Grunt. A friendly greeting is always genuinely appreciated.

I slung the RR today at my county park. Very comfortable! It is a bit narrow for my build, but since I always wind up on my side I don't think that'll be an issue. The fact that I didn't have to enter from the bottom and could unzip the screen was a big plus for me. I liked it.

Thanks for the welcome and the invite, CHSGirl. I'd absolutely love to attend something like that. Do y'all have a web site?

I hope you get used to your new accommodations, Bill. I am still acclimating myself. Each time out feels a little more natural, though. So, keep with it and you'll be craving a night or two of deep sleep in your hammock before you know it.

Additional greetings from the midlands. I'm envious of your moto trip. Sounds fun. Good luck ironing out the wrinkles in your hammock quest. If you have questions, start with Shug videos. He's covered it all.
