LA > Kisatcie Bayou, Mar 16-19, 2017 6th Annual Louisiana Fall Group Hang

    Sorry for the delay.

I'm gonna try and knock out as many questions as I can before they are asked, so here goes.

    Who's a hanging?
Anyone and everyone, we don’t discriminate cause you use a tent. Go to the spreadsheet ( the link is in my signature)and sign in. It helps us keep a head count on who is coming.

    What we hanging for?
The 6th Annual Louisiana Fall Group Hang is a car camping event. You can hike, fish, paddle (if the bayou is up) or just hang out.

    When we hanging?
The last weekend in March 16th-19th

    Where we hanging?
We will be hanging at the Kisatchie Bayou campsite. You can find directions here or coords here 31.44719, -93.093590

What is this going to cost me?
    See link above for campsites.
We will be doing a raffle again this year. Tickets are $1 per ticket. Donations for the raffle are always appreciated. All proceeds from the raffle go toward raffle prizes for the next years hang.

What should campers do about food?
We plan to cook a pig again the Saturday night but any other main or side dishes are welcome.
All other meals are up to the individual camper.

How much food do we need to bring for Saturday should I choose to cook something?
Attendance runs on average 20-30 people. Don't be afraid to show off your cooking skills. We do have a pretty awesome pair of cooks but we love to eat.

    What about firewood?
In a state park it is always hard to find wood. It is just such a used area. It will get chilly and we usually have a communal campfire to sit around and tell Russian Topquilt or Cookie Coon stories. Bringing a couple logs would sure help a bunch.

A few things to remember for those attending for the first time.
Come completely self-contained as you would on a car camping trip at home. Don’t forget a camp chair. My stories can get lengthy and you may need to sit down for one or two of them. Also any donated items for the raffle.

    Let the fun begin again.
Yosemite Sam: Are you trying to make me look a fool?
Bugs: You don't need me to make you look like a fool.
Yosemite Sam: Yer deerrrnnn right I don't!

    "When we hanging?

UM. I am ready but, is it the 16-th-19th or the last weekend in March. The last weekend in March 2017 would be the 24th-26th? I just want to make sure I am off for the correct weekend!!!!

Hehe, it's Louisiana. We ain't right. We bury our folks on top of the ground. We have drive through daiquiri shops. We have neighborhood block parties waiting for hurricanes to arrive.
And we hide plastic babies in cakes, and use large wooden spoons to convince critters to "get back in that pot".
We use shrimp for bait that are larger than most folks get to eat.
Etc, etc. I'm telling you we ain't right, and proud of it.
I know it's not the lightest gear, and it's a lot of stuff, but I use a canoe, so it's a lot like car camping, but without the other cars.

I'm hoping Jazilla meant December 16-19, that I can possibly do. The March dates I'll be busy working.
