Exclamation Friend busted my ridgerunner by sitting on top of the bug netting.

    Hi everyone,

I'm super bummed. This is the second day using my ridgerunner and a friend accidentally sat on top of the mesh and pulled the netting off a corner.

I'd love to fix it so that it is as durable as if it had never ripped. I don't really care about the aesthetics.

Would you mind helping me by giving me suggestions?

I was thinking of trying to sew it back with using a nylon thread. Can anyone give me sewing suggestions? I've actually never sewed anything before so could you explain it like you would to a five year old.

I appreciate you all a lot. Thanks for your help.Ridgerunner.jpg

... and you still call him a friend I'm useless with needles so if it were me I'd send it back to WB for repairs.

you could try hand stitching it but you will always have a pull in that area because you are having to stretch the material to reach to that area again, and it becomes tedious. best send it out to get fixed!

any local seamstress or tailor should be able to fix it. it would be no different than fixing a veil from a wedding dress.

Except a veil isn't connected on all sides with a bit of pressure on the sides ...

First thing, I would contact WB and ask them about turn around for repairs. I might try to create a temporary fix provided it would not cause additional harm; however, the 'forever' repair should be done by a professional. I have sewn for over 50 years and have made many garments and lots of outdoor gear. I would only trust WB to make a repair to my RR netting.

They repaired a friend's zipper and the only problem was it took longer than she had hoped. The repair was excellent.

    Just my $0.02.

Look on the bright side- if they're a friend they'll pay for the damages.

Ugh all of this makes sense I'm just so depressed about it. Thank you for your feedback. It's truly helpful even though it's not what I want to hear right now.

Question, if I get it sewn by a seamstress as a temporary fix could that make it worse in any way? Would it be easy to take out so that Warbonnet could do it properly? Thanks!
