Love those canoes. To me portages are kinda fun...sorta like backpacking and you get to be alone for a spell!
Nice to have all that fresh fish.

Quite entertaining, beautiful area. Portages not so much. Guess it's no different than backpacking in the mountains - you gotta pay for your fun. Thanks for sharing.

Love the area and your videos. It is the best place to canoe and portage plus eating the fish.

You have some beautiful paddling down there in AZ. I visit a friend of mine in Phoenix every so often and we go up to Tonto National Forest. Paddling is amazing. It was like paddling in the Grand Canyon!

I gotta get over there some time, but don't have a canoe here in AZ!

Awesome trip! My only experience portaging was with a 49lb kayak...I think that was the first and last time. I kept saying to myself "I'm too old for this shite". I was 33.

If I ever do it again, I'll gladly burn $1000 for a 5lb packraft

That fish curry looked incredible! Beautiful area as well.

Question: When meal planning for a trip like that, do you go expecting to catch fish or plan on not catching any and pack for each meal?

    Great report!
