We continue to stay in Winston-Salem. All routes to Wilmington / Carolina Beach are flooded and there is still no power in our subdivision. Expect to be here several more days.Originally Posted by gunner76

Florence’s wind, flood devastation will have long lasting and even permanent impact on all in her path. I hope everyone overcomes adversity enough to somewhat continue with your everyday life. When I lay in my hammock, I don’t know how fortunate I am.

The Terminator has a brother that lives in Calabash that emailed us and said he and several neighbors are trying to get back home starting today. Said it looks like they can go down to Columbia SC and work their way to Calabash. He said he will let us know.
Don't know if our smoker survived or not. Going to try and get home today via Greenville as bridge over Neuse River in Kinston is being repaired

State parks have been closed due to hurricane but they finished initial assessment and Medoc is open and up and running. About half are still closed. This hang will be here before you know it.

We got back home late Wednesday afternoon. No power for 10 days. Taking sponge baths gets old fast. Thought about hanging in back yard but the skeeters have come out in force and plus most of our trees lost limbs/branched and or have limbs/branches that need to be cut down first. Three of my four pecan tree lost limbs and one may require being cut down to the ground. At least I will have some good wood for the smoker which survived the storm.
We did suffer some roof damage and water damage in the house, how bad has not been determine. The real bad news is that since the power was off for several days we lost all our frozen foods including a lot of pork butts and other goodies we have gotten for the hang.
Hope everyone effected by the storm is ok and back home if you had to leave.

I’m willing to bring a butt or two to the hang. I’ll bring them if someone else will do the rub and smoking. I think I have a bag of hickory chips in my deck box too.
If there is anything else you’ve lost let me know.
I think I lost a box FULL of money.
