We are coming to an end to our trip out west and figured I would post our various campsites using for the most part Tensa stands. These things made it possible for us to camp the whole time in hammocks! I'll post a trip review when we get home. One thing to remember with the Tensa stand and with hammocks in general, is you have to be able to adapt to the site. Foot tether to orange screw, a tree, a boulder, etc. We stayed at KOA's in Missoula, MT and Leavenworth, WA and some tent sites at both would not have fit three stands!

@Curlymaple wooooo!! Now you're talkin'! Looks like a great trip.
It seems most (all?) KOAs do not want you hanging your hammock on their trees, posts and such, and I can certainly understand that. So a Tensa stand is definitely the way to go there. **Tensa Outdoors folks: potential cross marketing with KOA?
If I'm staying at a KOA, I definitely pack the stand for sure, but I've just been packing my stand on the motorcycle whether I think I will need it or not. Impromptu camp stops sometimes have good trees, some don't, and I never have to worry either way.

True enough. I have used picnic tables and trees a few times, not even because I couldn't use the orange screws either, just simply out of laziness.
There were also some eh, non-KOA campgrounds I stayed at that didn't want me anchoring or securing to anything, so I strategically anchored to my motorcycle.
I freely admit though that the vast majority of places where I am using the stand have been supportive of just anchoring/screwing to whatever, as long as it wasn't their trees.
It seems if you have a conversation with the folks they are better about what we do. At the Missoula KOA the guy was all interested in our hammocks when we asked him about the anchors. We told him to come back in a bit and check them out. Him and the old timer with him and they thought the hammocks and Tensa stands were cool!

Just used my Tensa4 for two nights at a bluegrass festival. Had to camp in a field. Perfect. Got lots of looks.
