    Gotta match your UQ, right?
Down hat is small but challenging. Do you have a pattern for that. Matching ARGON hat and vest sounds great. Dang I got all this material, it is time to get behind the sewing machine.

Are there any patterns around for a vest? Was thinking about that too, if the hat came out okay.

I think vest plans can't be too hard to come by. Worse comes to worse I will just go to Jo Annes and use on of their patterns. I made wind pants out of a pajama bottoms pattern that I just love. That is another thing I want to use ARGON for. Wind shirt and pants. I will have to coat it with something but boy will it be light.

I was just reading this thread for information on the ARgon with a windshirt in mind.

What would you use to coat it with??

I'd like to make a down anorak with Argon, but finding baffled plans are tough.

I don't know that you really need to coat it at all, but I have been seeing commercials for "never wet". I really want to try that out.

I've used never wet, it works....for a while. It wears off anything that flexes pretty fast, same in high traffic areas. It also will leave a whiteish tint or glaze almost to anything you spray. Has a rougher texture than I expected. I want to try ultra ever dry, because supposedly the first agent you spray, adhesive I assume, works better and was intended for higher traffic areas, but man is it way more $. 2 chemicals and then a 'special' spray kit that looks like regular spray bottles, but I'm not sure if they are. With the results I saw from never wet its hard to bite that bullet. Plain, old, cheap scotch guard does the job on the few things I use it for.

So the never wet would definitely add weight?

I didn't weigh anything I did it to, but it is a coating. I would say it added some, not that I'd notice on boots or coveralls, but weight would end up depending on how its applied. You might find very little added since its such a thin material, it probably could do with thinner coats. I should add that I'm no Banksy with a spray can, YMMV.

The tulle is working out great for UQs but I believe TQs take more of a beating.
Happy to say we've completed 4 UQs with this fabric and 900 fill without issues.
