I use a similar rub that's a Chipotle Cinnamon. I found I have to be careful and cook low and slow with it or it burns quickly. I do love most of the Lawry marinades in the bottle.
Pappy I rode out Hurricane Hugo in 1989 when I lived in Charleston on the Isle of Palms. I went inland to a friends house. Some friends of mine stayed on the island. They said they knew it was a bad idea when they saw the living room furniture moving by itself into the bedroom. And they were up 18' on pilings. They barely made it.Donno Trish. If a rub or sauce has sugar and possibly oil?
Then it can burn especially at too high temperatures.
Different oils have different burn temperatures.
Y'all stay safe down on the coast. We're expecting to get hit hard even up here near Raleigh... Everything is already sold out near us, it's supposed to be one of the worst ones since Hazel. Hopefully the damage to MMSP isn't so bad as that we have to cancel the hang
