I wonder if anyone has seen, or created these type pockets (such as Warbonnets Bridge has). Overhead rigs hanging from my hammock ridgeline always seem to get in my way.

SLD calls them sunset saddle bags
Dutch has the sidecar and sidesling that are made to connect to the rings on the chameleon. I'm sure you could sew d-rings on whatever hammock to use the chameleon accessories.
I never liked the one on my ENO clone, but that could be from general poor construction. With things in the pocket, it pulled the edge of the hammock down and my feet/bag flopped out more easily. Sort of an opposite Knotty Mod.
Dutch's sidesling looks interesting, like it might not drag the whole side down.
As an alternative to the side sling, have you tried or looked at the DW peak shelf? Pull it forward to load/unload it, and then push it back and it stays outta the way. The clips are a real pita to snap onto the hammock D rings, but once done it works great. Enough room to store all sorts of stuff. I primarily use it for storing extra clothes and loose stuff that I don't want hanging on the ridgeline. I can even cram my topquilt up there.
Dutch also has the storage pocket, a small mesh pocket that clips on the D rings inside or outside the hammock (works on my Half Zip and Chameleon).
