Can anyone explain to me how to use the line tensioners that come with a Chill Gorilla fortress tarp?
Additionally, what alternative would you recommend?

If I remember what they look like, this video should help. I have similar tensioners on my tent.

The Chill Gorilla uses standard 3 hole plastic guy line tensioners. These are about as easy and simple as they get. To assemble you pass the guyline through one of the outer holes. It is then immediately fed back through the middle hole. The line then loops to the tarp ground stake and comes back to the tensioner where it is ties off with a simple overhand knot using the third hole. Once installed there is no need to remove them. This style tensioner has been around for 100's of years. simple and hard to beat.
If you want another option then you can skip the plastic tensioner completely and tie and use a Taughtline hitch.
I tend to tie my line off using an assortment of knots depending on my mood. I have left the plastic tensioners on my Chill Gorilla because they weight so little.

tsshaw78 is too hard to say on the trail - Just call me Shaw.
Jeff-oh, your explanation was helpful, thanks. The guy lines come already laced through all three holes in the plastic. I, clearly, had never used a piece of hardware like this.
