I've read as much as I can on here and watched Shug's video on the Snipe and Blazeaway's video comparing the Traveler and Snipe.
I've narrowed it down to these two but also really considered the BIAS Weight Weenie and the Simply Light Designs Tree Runner SL.
Money isn't really a concern but who doesn't like to get the best deal?
Here's the breakdown that I see.
They both make excellent products and have great customer service from what I've read. I've had a Blackbird and a Ridgerunner which were made great but they just didn't work for me. I've read where a few people liked the Traveler over the Blackbird. I also really like how the Edge is made compared to the Tad Pole. Although the Snipe is listed as one foot longer, I saw where someone said that that measurement is pre-gather. Blazeway's video looks like it substantiates this information.
The Warbonnet combo is $156 shipped minus the $10 combo rebate.
Pluses: Cheaper
Ridgeline included in price.
Lighter by about four ounces.
I like the grosgrain ridgeline and metal attachment points of the Edge tarp.
I would get the webbing suspension that I would use on a backyard hammock and get a new whoopie suspension from Dutchware.
Negatives: Doesn't have Knotty mod. but I think I should be able to add this.
The Wilderness Logics combo with triloop option is $200 shipped.
Pluses: Knotty mod. already installed.
Both are available in my favorite color for hammocks: black.
May have a flatter lay since it is 1.5 mm thick and is a little bit longer.
Negatives: Opposite of all of the Traveler's Pluses.
Ok, forget the advice, I've convinced myself after writing this up.
The Warbonnet combo seems like a no brainer for me!
I really didn't need to post this but I've already spent so much time on it. Hopefully this will help someone else trying to decide between these two setups.
