I would say my first hammock trip was rather successful. Took me no time at all to set up. It was extremely comfortable. In fact, my lower back was pretty sore from the hike in and I was concerned that the slight curvature of the hammock would cause it to be worse, but it felt like a million bucks the next morning.

The weather gave me a chilly 30 degree night, but with the CCF pad, a couple sweaters under my shoulders and a 15 degree Marmot bag, I was not remotely cold. The pad slipped out from under my feet and over the edge of the hammock at one point, but it was fixed quickly. It was time for a visit to a neighboring tree anyway.

Bottom line is that I am extremely glad that I decided to take the plunge and am already anticipating my next trip.

Peace!
