Completed: Hammocking tarp with half-doors, kitsapcowboy's design, silpoly

Hey all. My first post here!

I decided to craft my own hammocking tarp as there are very few ready-made options available in EU (or at least Finland) that have doors or half-doors on them, and I definitely wanted them. Some US models are stocked on some webstores, but their prices are incredibly high due to tolls, I presume. So, I have a bit of sewing experience, and thus I began the long and time-consuming process of browsing these forums for ideas and methods. After a month or two of brain-wrecking, ordering things, having a few complete meltdowns due to the difficulty of the material, here we are. The sewing is complete and all that is left is seam-sealing the ridgeline. Yay!

    Here are the specs.

Design: kitsapcowboy's Cowboy badlander design, hex tarp with half doors. Differences to the design: there are no cat-cuts, and no ridgeline webbing. The ridgeline seam is simply a flat felled seam. The hems are rolled. Reinforcements are of the same material which I fused into main fabric with silicone. (Thread for design: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ith-Half-Doors)

    Materials:
Fabric: I chose 30den ripstop silpoly, 45 grams per square meter (I believe that's 1.45 oz per yard), from extremtextil.de
    Mara 70 thread
    Grosgrain webbing, width 2 cm
Beastee Dee rings for all tieouts as well as ridgeline ends

Total weight without any tieout/ridgeline cords: 464 grams. Pretty nice for such a good rain coverage! Seam sealing the ridge will add a little to this.
And that's pretty much it, I think. It came out wonderful despite some difficulties in sewing such a light and slippery material as well as some thread issues probably caused by slightly too small needle eye size.

I couldn't have done this without all the extremely valuable information on this forum, and Youtube videos detailing many manufacturing processes. So big thanks to kitsapcowboy, jellyfish, Shug, Dutch, Nature Calls Outdoors and every single other contributor whose name I didn't put to mind in all the threads and videos that I visited for information
