Help! I fell in here through the YouTube rabbit hole:
I thought I might make some dog leads from double-braided nylon as birthday presents which lead to rope splicing videos. Rope splicing videos lead me to Amsteel splicing videos. Amsteel splicing videos led me to hammock camping videos. Hammock camping videos lead me to DIY hammock making videos. Hammock making questions led me to Hammock Forums.
Since that first rope splicing video about three months ago, I've made my own whipped end hammock. Spliced together all the necessary suspension (continuous loops, whoopie slings, UCR's, tree straps, soft shackles, etc) built two EMT tensahedron stands with plans for a third for my son's birthday. (My wife made her own hammock and suspension). And I see tarps, under-quilts, top-quilts, ridge-line accessories, and much more in my future. But I'm not obsessive, no, not at all.
Thanks for all the help!
